We have designed two level tests. The first focuses on General English and is meant for all levels, all the way from beginners to advanced. The second focuses on Business English and is for students who are of intermediate level and above. We plan on designing more tests in the future. These will include tests for children, a legal English test and more tests with a variety of themes.
two different evaluation guidelines – two level tests in one
We have used two different grading systems to give students a comprehensive and broad idea of their level. The first one is the CEFRL or Common European Framework of References for Languages. It is a widely accepted guideline used across Europe and also increasingly throughout the world to assess language skills. Its goal is to provide a method and standard of teaching, learning and assessing which can apply to all European languages. There are 3 main categories: basic user (A), independent user (B) and proficient user (C). Then there are 3 subcategories: Beginner (A1), Elementary (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper-Intermediate (B2), Advanced (C1) and Proficiency (C2).
We have also designed our own grading system which we use internally for all of our students and goes from 1 to 10. If you complete one of our tests, you will not only receive a CEFRL evaluation, but you will also get a second score that tells us where you would fit in our program. If you decide to sign up to one of our Online English Classes via Skype, it will be easy for us to design your lessons based on your level.
complete and comprehensive tests
Both of our level tests are complete and comprehensive. They include several different categories that correspond to activities that we teach in our English classes via Skype. These categories are the following: Grammar and Vocabulary, Conditional, Passive, Interrogative, Reading Comprehension and listening comprehension. Each test has 50 questions so as to be sure to make a complete and accurate evaluation of each student.
